Gavin Canavan joined Net Zero in early 2014. He graduated from the University of Glamorgan in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Architectural Technology. He then went on to graduate from Cork Institute of Technology with a Special Purpose Certificate in Sustainable Energy Systems, from the University of East London with a Post Graduate Certificate in Advanced Environmental & Energy Studies. More recently Gavin attended Dublin Institute of Technology and achieved a Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Analysis and Energy Retrofit.

Gavin has extensive experience in the construction industry having worked in architectural practices in Ireland, Wales & Australia. He has experience as part of the design team and as a project leader on a large variety of residential, commercial, educational and conservation projects ranging in value from 60k to multi-million euro projects. Gavin has developed a wide range of skills during his career and has experience in building and site surveys, project management, building compliance, land registry compliant maps to name a few. Gavin has a particular interest in building energy performance and that has lead him to focus his career in this direction in recent years.

Gavin is an Incorporate member of The Chartered Institute of Building and is registered with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) as a BER assessor.
