Brian Byrne

Brian Byrne, the founder of Net Zero graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a BAI in Mechanical Engineering and a BA in Mathematics. He then went on to graduate from the Dublin Institute of Technology with first class honors in an MSc in Business and Entrepreneurship and was awarded the gold medal for achieving the highest overall grade.

Subsequently, Brian was employed by Commercial Energy Ratings Ltd for over 3 years. It was here that he gained extensive experience in the energy rating industry as well as in the production of land registry compliant maps. Specialising primarily in commercial BER certificates, Brian has produced more commercial BER certs than most other assessors in Ireland. In 2011, he published twice as many commercial certs as any other assessor in the country. This unparalleled experience means that Brian can carry out energy assessments promptly, efficiently and accurately.

In addition to producing BER certificates, Brian has advised many architects and engineers on ensuring their designs meet the energy requirements of the building regulations. He has also carried out detailed energy audits for homeowners and advised them on energy upgrades and the grants available for these.

Brian is registered with the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) to carry out both domestic and non-domestic energy assessments.
